UNDER CONSTRUCTION

Information on this website had not been updated for several years.

So, with the blessings of the MHESSC executive council, I have volunteered to update the site and keep it current with club news, trial announcements, club member placements, newsletters, etc.

Club member input is welcomed!!!

Send website suggestions to Dean Koehler, Membership Chair at: koehlerd@tc.umn.edu

The Minnesota Heartland ESS Club was established in 1991 by members of other Minnesota ESS field trial clubs who saw the need for an additional quality field trial ESS club in the Midwest Interclub.  In the spring of 1991 the club put on its first fun trials, some in conjunction with other Minnesota clubs.  It is interesting to note that at some of the first fun trials put on by the MHESSC in Redwood Falls, Minnesota there were over 50 dogs entered in the fun trial open stake.

In the fall of 1991 the club put on its first AKC sanctioned field trial.  Following that trial the AKC rep told the club; “You know what you are doing. There is no need for this club to do another sanctioned trial, your next AKC ESS field trial will be a licensed trial”.

With that auspicious start, the Minnesota Heartland ESS Club has conducted two quality ESS field trials each year (in the spring and fall) since the spring of 1992. (28 field trials to date).

In the past, the MN Heartland ESS Club has put on fun trials in the spring – following the field trial season. (48 fun trials to date).

MHESSC members have participated in the local game fair, tirelessly spending days manning the dog booth and giving free seminars.

In the past, the membership has voted to conduct hunt tests.  However, none have been held by the club as yet.

Also in the past, the club has indicated interest in supporting a Cocker Field trial.
